Tuesday, September 26, 2006 ron / USA Dear Jennifer, Wednesday, September 13, 2006 df / 3423 Hi Jen, What a wonderful experience the other night. Thanks so much for inviting me. It was great to see your little family thriving. Made me very happy. And your music, Jen, is wonderful and I always feel like I have had a little privilage to know you and understand the beauty of the relationship between your life and your music. But you know, that is the beauty of your music and I know I am far from alone in feeling your depth through music. Thanks for sharing with us. B Wednesday, September 06, 2006 B / US dear jennifer: Everyone who hears you is deeply touched. To meet you in reverse order was much more meaningful and appropriate than if I heard you/saw you perform first. I'll always remember you as the stunningly beautiful, brilliant, coy, drum machine shopper at Guitar Center. The instruments you touch are fortunate. Just to ask you - why no U.K. dates? I live in Glasgow, Scotland, and there's a great venue called King Tut's Wah Wah Hut. It holds about 150 people or so, very intimate, and has hosted some great artists in the past... I've seen a few people there - Paula Cole, Sam Brown, Kristin Hersh.. It's a great place, you should investigate it and they have many indie artists playing there night after night.. Anyway - I live in hope! Take care, and keep making magic. Andr.x Friday, May 05, 2006 A / Scotland Dear Jennifer, I really hope to see you again in Rome. Your new album is my everyday musical company... G Roma, Italy Friday, May 05, 2006 G / Italy Dear Jennifer, There is a Dutch site that likes to write album reviews. Check this one out ! http://www.fileunder.nl/faq.php If you could contact them, or sent some music they might even review your (latest) album (and I know this for sure because I know one of the authors). Hope to see you soon here in The Netherlands. This sunday I will go to a bar to see a friend of mine play for an hour. She writes her own music (guitar) and besides beeing a good friend she's very artistic. Give my love to all surrounding you and enjoy the upcomming concert. Cheers, Richard. Friday, April 28, 2006 Richard / 00sterhout@zonnet.nl / NL one of my dearest friends passed away the other day, his named was Ben"Simple Simon" Chappel and he was 26, a newyorker artist and incredible writer and lifesaver, to put in a nutschell : a living friend of mine. what i will still remember of him ? all that, add the fact of some words he said to me long long time ago "Cecile, u see, just look around, people don't live life ,real life, the now and then life ...they are obnibulated by what they should do, or what they want to do, or what they should have done...but they do not live at present time! so have a rest, take a sit, and let's get your own trip of present time my friend, my reinforcement, tell the ones you love taht they are important for you, create, run, sleep, go to a pub with friends, share, enjoy, that's life"... well, and that's true. so deeply true. so please take care of this present time all of you guys and create, have a rest watch around, cry out, make music, sing, take care, all of you dear lifesavers, and you too for sure dear Jennifer, my smile to your loving ones too. .Cecile-Riverlight-Maalaki Sunday, April 16, 2006 cecile-riverlight-maalaki / maalaki@gmail.com / France Jennifer, My name is Bear (like the animal) and I saw you at SOHO on thursday night. WOW I was utterly blown away with your honesty, breathy voice, and super RAW artful approach to music. To a young working musician as myself you were very very inspiring. I played in the band ONA that night. We had the string quartet play on our last song and I was the long haired lead gtr player. Thanks again for your music. I would be at your amazing pad but I'm slaving away on building my new studio in Santa Ynez. I hope to be @ your next HOME CONCERT. No words to describe it...only loud silence while listening to it. Thank U. Thursday, April 06, 2006 Maaike / The Netherlands dear jennifer, i love your music! thanks for sharing it with the world. music like this is quite refreshing indeed & much needed in a time of lackluster sounds or pre-packaged artists. hearing your sound was similiar to opening a window in a very stuff room filled with dust & letting fresh air cleanse the lungs. do you ever play in north carolina? i would love to come out to one of your shows & will eventually have to purchase all of your cds. currently, i've added you to my ever growing pantheon of great female musicians such as tori amos, kate bush, & emily bezar to name a few. would you by chance happen to have a profile on myspace.com? if so, i could add you to my friend's list & promote your music there. i would even be willing to add one of your songs with your permission to my page on myspace.com i just feel the need to share the wealth of great music such as yours & introduce the world to some truly talented musicians. much love & respect. b Friday, March 24, 2006 B / NC, USA Dear Jennifer, i love this music. wow! she's just incredible! i add her to my list of favorite right up there in my pantheon of great female musicians such as tori amos, emily bezar, or kate bush Thursday, March 23, 2006 B / NY, USA March 3 Late at night Jennifer, I hope you made it back safe and sound to your home in Santa Barbara after your concert at our little cafe in SLO. I want to say again to you - your voice is nearly angelic, and your heart is very human. A wondrous combination. Here's some of my "concert review" mumbo-jumbo for you to consider.... ....."Jennifer's music is passionate and haunting, like a river sweeping your imagination to other worlds while keeping your heart very much at home." Enjoy your night's rest. Enjoy your family and sweet baby. Enjoy your life. - John Friday, March 03, 2006 John Damien / USA Dear Jennifer,Absolutely wonderful, your music just blew me away, found some samples on the internet. Gotta buy it now. Micke Ghost Monday, February 27, 2006 Mikael Lundin / kolimaroli@hotmail.com / Sweden Dear Jennifer, I was recently trying to build a cd mix for a friend and found it difficult to pick one or two favorites from you when the ten or twelve in my short list ALL were bringing me to tears. You continue to move me, even with some of the songs I've been experiencing for a few years. Keep doing what you do. Wednesday, February 08, 2006 DJ Morris / outcast20005@comcast.net / USA Hello Jennifer, Thankyou for your concert! you played "the painter"...................That was the fucking best time in hearing you playand sing EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I've heard you sing that song alot...and outof all the times, that nightwas a high-light! Intense (of course...it's a Jennifer-tune..)... Thank you mega, P Tuesday, February 07, 2006 P / USA Full Moon in 3 is another wonderful cd. All of the songs are very good, but I have two favorites. Opening's Had is magic and fire and a bunch of other things that sound beautiful and desperate. I also love Pomegranate Weed and its rumbling bass accented by the subtle and not so subtle noises darting in and out of the mix. Your voice pleads throughout these songs, trying to draw emotions out of me. Thank you. I entered your name on pandora.com and they haven't heard of you. You might want to enlighten them. Looks like a good way to get some exposure. Friday, February 03, 2006 Derrek / catdadinpdx@yahoo.com / U.S. Hi, Jen,Choosing to face and walk squarely into and through tough places is courage, vital, and the essence of true art. And, that is what I always see you do and once again savored last night. You have an amazing, palpable and evolving relationship to each song you compose. I love what goes on between you and the music muse. And that last bit with Phoebe transformed the music into a completely new thing. Keep on keeping on my dear. Wednesday, October 26, 2005 Paul R / paul_reijnen@yahoo.com / Netherlands Amstelveen, 26 oktober 2005. Dear Jen(nifer)and Phoebe Moon Ray,Just a short e-mail. Today i received your email concurning your latest release. You where , one you latest c.d. in the Fullmoon titelsong, singing "when you Paul a chain and wait for the sunday and there will be nothing in the way shame you recall repetet form than you etc!" and for a moment i thougt you where adressing me especially because in the song Americasong you where also singing about Amsterdam. And when you are back in Amsterdam you have to try the Dutch delicacy named poffertjes. I personly think there are something complety different than stroopwafels. So from the three songs i heard so far i have to wright the best c.d. you made so far. And i allready liked the c.d. i have from you named Rabbit, cruel and the musican. I realy want to hear the hole c.d. How is Ph oebe Moon Ray doing? Are you taking here with you to Europe when you are comming next year? Wisching to sea you soon. Wednesday, September 07, 2005 L / USA Hi JT, Just a quick note from a late listener to the 'Painted' live disc. So good, it hurts. Youch. Trying to describe this to a friend the other day, I think I rhetorically asked how a performance can be funny, heart-cleaving, libidinal, child-like, angelic and diabolical all at the same time? (We talked a little about Prince in this frame, I think, also.) Exquisite. Yrs, G Friday, June 03, 2005 G / Australia Hello I have just discovered your wonderful songs. I especially love the texture and passion of your music, its unexpectedness, and what must be amongst the best backing vocal tracks I have ever heard. I am very much looking forward to your next album. Craig Friday, June 03, 2005 C / Arctic Norway, Dear Jennifer, When are we gonna see what your barn looks like. Wednesday, May 04, 2005 Richard / 00sterhout@zonnet.nl / NL Dear Jennifer, Today may the 4th we in The Netherlands commemorated the casualties of World War II with 2 minutes of silence. The Americans and Canedians who crossed over an ocean to set us free from Hitler's regime. Your music that can sound like bird singing within silence is so appropriated. It (your music) seem to fit in this time we cherish the freedom we have right now. Just a thought, just a few words that I need to share with all of you. Then just enjoy the silence. Love to everybody! Tuesday, July 13, 2004 Maaike / The Netherlands Dear Jennifer, Thank you for sharing your music. And thank you for your response. I'd like to tell you that your music is a wonderful confirmation of how I wish to live my life (and I do, by the way). Wanting to be touched and wanting to touch others. By what I do and by who I am. That is what your music and your way of performing is to me. It is a perfect reminder for me in times when I am distracted by trivial things and when I tend to forget myself. For me to be able to touch others I need to be in very close contact with myself. And when I lose myself or forget to stay by myself I only have think abo ut your performance I saw in march this year. And than I know. Again thank you. And we'll be in touch. Much love. Maaike Saturday, June 19, 2004 Maaike / Netherlands Hi Jen! My copy of The Musician arrived and I love it! I must say that the harmony and the chord changes convey intense emotion. One would not even need to hear the lyrics to feel the emotion present. I was moved. Do the songs and changes come to you spontaneously, or is it more an analy tical approach? Love and regards, R Saturday, June 19, 2004 rich / USA Dear Jennifer, I've been to one of your magical concerts. Saw your beautiful you and belly. I am very curious when your miracle will step in this world. Would you let us know? I wish you, your man and soon to be born child all the best. Dear beautiful Jennifer, thank you so much for your concert last night. So I've seen you personally, I've listened to your songs (forgetting every sadness) and enjoyed your presence and your talent, your notes and voice going to the bottom of any ocean and then bringing us to the highest sky. Magic, emotions, pure joy. And the joy of realizing that you remembered my name and the two kisses stamped on our cheeks! I hope you have realized that Rome loves you, (I've tried to ask other friends to come... but I've asked too late: they don't know what they missed!). So not only Holland, Belgium, Germany and France, now: also Italy. And you'll see that we can love you more than other "cold" countries. Sorry for the rain: we'll order a beautiful sun next time you come. Now I have all yo ur (4) cds. They will be soon consumed on my system! (Better for you, so I'll need to buy them again!). We would like to thank you so much for your performance. This concert was of a kind we had never lived before, you are so close to people ! It was really link listening to a friend rathe r than a "distant star" (which does not mean you don't have a star's talent !) W e admired the sound you managed to draw out of this very ordinary piano... we are really longing for your next concert in Franc e, we hope we will hear you playing on a grand Steinway or Bosendoerfer, or whatever other grand. We also hope you sometime organize home concerts in France. Although we know next time will be with a band, so probably only in concert places... Once again, thanks for your concert. At this moment i'm listening to your new cd and it is a very great experience. Especially liberty lunch and fat come out great. Thanks again for making my evening! Take care of you and your baby With love, Rose Thursday, March 25, 2004 Rose / Holland Dearest Jennifer, And again I was stunned by your voice and your play last night in Den Haag. If I hadn't known my friend, I wouldn't have met you and your music. I am very grateful to him too. Because you are - in a way - noncommercial, your music reaches the deepest corner of my soul, that's amazing. If more people would know you, you would be a big star I guess, but on the other hand: I talked to some people I didn't know before, during the break of your show and they said, that being in a stadium listening to a performer (here: T. Amos) play on a stage far away, with just a voice and the piano, does not at all open your soul, because of the atmosphere. And then I thought, well I hope you find all the love, money and whatever you want, but please stay the way you are. You make difference in people's lives, does that make you some kind of angel? And you know, that every minute of the day someone is listening to your music here on this planet... Even animals love it: it started with the kiddies on your first album: our (female) cat was very interested in the prr and miaow, and I think they have learned to appreciate your music, because when they hear your voice, they will settle down on the pillow near the box and buzz. And I may be like a proud parent or something - but I can assure you I didn't give birth to these little animals - but I have to sent you this picture of the little kiddies, Patzer (the black one, male) and Jackie (the other, fem.), lying all comfy. I made the picture during "skating". Thanx again, and see you next spring, if you can leave your little one of course! Or are you taking your baby on tour? With a nanny? Good luck to you and yours and much love! Arno. Thursday, March 25, 2004 Arno / NETHERLANDS Dear Jennifer and fans, Last week, tuesday the 16th of March, I had organized a homeconcert in Utrecht for you. As a not very objective journalist I wrote an article about the e vening for www.3voor12.nl/utrecht . Everybody who's interested can read it there. (it's dated 18 March, title: Jennifers ziel , persoonlijk in je oor gefluisterd) Unfortunately you have to be able t o read Dutch.... :) It was great to arrange a homeconcert, the music and the people were very wonderfull. I'm looking forward to the next tour! Simone Thursday, March 25, 2004 Simone / simonevoor12@hotmail.com / The Netherlands Dear Jennifer,'I'm not happy right now! You kept on thanking us to be here for you, but I kept on thinking : Thanks YOU so much for your presence in our city, thank you so much for your songs, thank you so much for being such an unique and incredibly sensitive human being. I saw you and I'll never forget the way my heart was beating when you were singing Mad Magdaline. Don't forget us and please come back in France soon :-) Samia Wednesday, March 24, 2004 Samia / Paris, FRANCE Thank you was the most used word yesterday at Hotel du Nord. You kept on saying "thank you" to the people who were there to listen to your music and I kept on thinking : Thank you Jennifer. Thank you for coming in our city to share with us your great music Thank you for being such a sensitive and passionate human being Thank you for "Mad Madgaline", this song makes me cry each time I listen to it. Don't forge t you french public and come back to see us soon Wednesday, March 24, 2004 Samia / samialamri@free.fr / Paris, France Hi Jennifer, I was there during your concert at Paris. You're really amazing exactly as I imagined you except two things, you're really cute and so "accessible". When I talk about you to my friends, I like to name you : my second godesss (yes, I 'm polytheist :) This surname is really the best to describe you especially after to see you on stage even if the quality of the sound won't enough to let express your wonderful voice but the most important were there : feelings and emotions ! You can't imagine how is frustrating to see you (and kiss you ;) but can't speak out any word from my mouth. So, I'm writing this email to try to excuse me again ! I sure what you had thought that I was a little bit mad :) In fact, I'm hypersensitive ! I try to fight it and sometimes that's okay but this night I knew that it was impossible ... :( It's still like that when I met someone for the very first time (usually, I don't speak but I wanted really to thank you), the next time will be better ... I hope :) During the show, you asked us to imagine strings and everything, so I would ask you to imagine what a hypers ensitive can feel when he's listening you !Worderful and magic !!! It's sharpened, I was transpierced by your music and your voice. I can't express it better ! I love music, independent or not ! The french people doesn't know you enough at my humble opinion and the most part of my friends had yet a least "The musician" :) I would thank you again and again, especially for a strange thing :) I'm less disappointed to haven't met my first godess (Kate Bush) when I could to do it because I will have been in the same state than ahead you :) The best gift that you can give me is to continue the music as long as you will be inspired ! Take care especially about your baby ! See you ... I hope that the french audience was enough pleasant to give you the desire to come back again soon to Paris. Je t'embrasse ! xox Tuesday March 23, 2004 Pat / FRANCE, Paris Dear Jennifer, It was a nice week and last weekend at my home was the best ever atmosphere I ever had here. Wednesday, January 14, 2004 dre / USA Dear Jennifer, A friend lent me The Musican a few months ago. I played it a couple of times and then he took it back. However within a few weeks the songs kept appearing in my head and in the end I had to order a copy. Since then it's become my most played album. Track 3 is quite outstanding. You derserve a bigger audience. Many thanks. Wednesday, January 14, 2004 nigel / England Dear Jennifer, I was extremely disheartened to hear that Brendan is no longer playing with you. I felt that he added an addit ional spark to your music. Sunday, December 07, 2003 C / sbearthmom@yahoo.com / USA Lieve Jennifer, Thank you for making me smile. Thank you for making me believe in people. Thank you for letting me see that succes and hard hard work can be compared with joy, soul, optimism, a child like fascination and creativity. Thank you for me recognising my inner self in you. For making me believe that trust and joy and optimsm can bring me places. *soft smile* I realise that you've been getting a lot of response from people you don't know... People who know you through your dancing and singing. I must confess that I don't know either. *grins* I'm a cut and paste addict. I cannot leave pretty images in a magazine... I have to create with them. It was on a rainy monday that I got home from working (with juveniles) that I made myself some tea and ate the stroopwafels I had bought at the trainstation (all six... poor tummy). I was a hard day and I had to unwind and unleashed my scissor on a pile of magazines... One of the articles I cut out was a small review with pictures from this person who supposedly made a great album called the musician... I t made me curious... I looked you up online at a friend and have been spending some time on your site. and now...? I felt like writing you. Make you smile because you touched my heart. Touched my heart with a picture first and personal writing later. by now, six days after I wrote the first part and 3 albums later... I love your music too...and a connection trough stroopwafels. lost for (more) words and wishing you lots of amazing and inspiring moments to come. I'm curious about whats going to happen.. well curious IS an understatement here! see you! love, Paul Wednesday, October 22, 2003 Paul / paul_reijnen@hotmail.com / Nederland Hi, Jen - The video came yesterday, got to watch it last night - quite a few times in fact. I have seen a lot of music videos, I've been into them since the 80's, and Grand Canyon is one of the most evocative and effective ones I've ever experienced. The thing I loved best about you in your live performan ce that night was your restraint and control, which is extremely erotic, and this comes across brilliantly in the video. And there's amazingly effective imagery throughout (I especially like your feet on the wrought iron) - all in all, it's just a superbly accomplished piece. My suggestion to you is: make oodles of copies and send as many as you can to anyone connected with music video (television shows especially). This deserves to be seen and appreciated by as wide an audience as humanly possible. Love, Robby Wednesday, October 08, 2003 Robby / Shagabond / US Jen, Jennifer, JT, My wife, my beautiful wife is in your dance class and she speaks very highly of you. I tried to listen to one of your pieces on line but because of our connection here, I could only get bits and pieces. All it took was hearing you sing one note with your sultry, airey voice and I became a fan. Please tell me that you have room at one of your shows for Suzy and I. Please let me know right away so that I can stand on my desk and shout YAHOO or if I should pop a dozen anti-depressants!! M Monday, October 06, 2003 Marc / Netherlands Dear Jennifer, How can you put words to such an emotional experience last night? For me it was like the world shut down and my body was floating, held up by each note. In other words, there was no need to expend energy or thought because it was all around you and would permeate your body whether you were ready for it or not. Thanks again for the concert and great conversation. Maybe at the next concert I値l bring some of my infamous tuna helper for everyone to enjoy. Good luck and God bless. Your voice is so soothing and your lyrics are one of a kind. Thanks for the awesome show!!! Friday, August 22, 2003 j / US Hello, fellow Leo ! Been intensely checking out your website; especially enjoyed the interview -completely agreed with everything you said, especially about NOT categorizing the music. I loathe labels too, despise anything that limits creativity in any way, and as we know, creativity doesn't fit neatly in a convenient little box, does it. Just wanted to clarify something I said to you on Saturday night: when I asked if the naked pic on the cover of The Musician was sort of like a Tori Amos thing, I wasn't comparing you to Tori (which I now realize happens a lot), I hate comparisons, it drives me bloody barking mad that people (especially reviewers) seem to have this deranged compulsion to compare movies or musicians, etc. When I asked you if it was s ort of like a Tori Amos thing, I was referring to the motivation behind it - to make a deeply personal statement in a provocative way, which is one of our Leo trademarks. Can't wait to he ar from you and see you again LIVE. Love ya, Robby Monday, August 18, 2003 Robby C. / shagabond@aol.com / USA Hello Jennifer. I was recommended your cd The Musician by a guy that works at a record store I go to a lot, and I have to say, I wasn't dissapointed (did I spell that right?). I went on the internet, bought the CD, and after hearing that one, also bought the two first. You are by far my favourite musician. I can't begin to describe how much it means to me. I'm a dancer, and I always love to dance to your music. It makes me feel good. My dance style is slow and elegant (at least that's what I like to think), much like your music. I never stop being amazed at your compositions. I always find something new on your cd's that I hadn't noticed before. great music. Keep up the good work. I can't wait for your new CD! You don't know me but I was given this address by a friend and he lent me your latest CD to listen to, and I was talking to him about it and he said I should let you know about the effect it had on me. I hope you don't mind. It moved me to tears. I listened to the whole thing straight through, of course, and your music moved me so much - I remembered things I'd long ag o suppressed, and cried and cr ied and cried. Listening to you was an experience, to say the least, and took me to some places inside myself that I didn't expect or think anyone could do. Hope I'm not freaking you out! Thank you. You know that and bought your album infront of you from HMV - Oxford Street, even thou you told me you would give me a copy. I think it was reaally sweet of you. I am really enjoying your albulm. But am I wrong to say, I think its understating your vocals. As I know what you sound lik e live. But still it's the ice breaker I would imagine. You will want people to come out and hear you do it different live. Then they will appreicate what talented and multi versatile, and artist you are. Much respect. You write well and sing well. Monday, January 20, 2003 liz kelly / r1ghteousbabe / u.s.a. Dear Jennifer, After reading the Sunday Times review of your album a number of months ago, I finally managed to get it on order from a local shop this week. Don't despair, however as I understand it finally arrived in the Cork (Ireland) Virgin Megastore this week too! Anyway, well done. It's a fine piece of work. I do have one complaint though. On the new album, would you ever leave out all the in-between song stuff. I don't think it does you any favours and it certainly does nothing for me. Please take this in the spirit in which it's meant and we look forward to seeing you live in Cork. At this point The Lobby Bar 's pro bably the one to do. Hope your future tour will reach our country as well... Gianca rlo Friday, January 10, 2003 Giancarlo / Italy Hi people! Did anybody in the Netherlands hear the 2 meter sessions? I couldn't find any mention of Jennifer on the 2-meter website. Was her session broadcasted at all? _If_ someone heard it, did someoen tape it? $) Henri Sunday, January 05, 2003 Henri / henrikar@arago.utwente.nl / Netherlands Hi Jen & Bren, today the snow fell out of the sky in Holland (where else would it fall from?!)and I enjoyed playing outside with my kids. But Ooops, unfortunately I missed the Tweemetersessies, grrr...Well, I just think of your performance in Leiden (Iwas there with Gab & Ries) and there the goosebums (you spell like this?) come again, so it's okay. Thats special, even the thought of your show does that to me! I even was almost in tears at the end of that performance that evening, not sad but glowing, touched by the music, lyrics, bond between you and Bren...everything. Please don't get 'too big', I'm so afraid within a year I will be standing in Ahoy or the Arena or something, looking over thousands of heads to se e you (probably within a much noisier crowd...) I love you the way you are!!! And so does my daughter ( 4 years). We sang Santa's song so often the past weeks. Glohohohohohoria...although my girl thinks you don't know the right words (yep, she's dutch you know...) Well, see you in spring! Hugs and kisses, Sunday, January 05, 2003 Annemieke / fam.righarts @Planet.nl / holland Dear Jennifer, my best wishes for the New Year: full of success and joy.
